FAQ

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF BOOKING BOTH FILM AND PHOTOGRAPHY WITH BLUEBERRY CREATIVE?

By having a team of photographers and filmmakers working together, you are ensuring that you get the best results from both teams.  We know how to stay out of each other’s way. And there is never a question as to which is more important, as we treat both mediums with equal respect.  Perhaps the most important facet of having one company provide both services is that, aesthetically, your memories will compliment each other.

CAN WE BOOK FILM AND PHOTOGRAPHY SEPARATELY?

You sure can! No sweat! Our availability policy is as follows:

If we have a fusion (film and photo) wedding booked on a given day, we no longer take inquiries for that date. We are able to shoot two weddings on a given day as long as we are only providing one service for those weddings (IE: one photo and one video, two photo, etc).

HOW MANY PHOTOS DOES A WEDDING DAY TYPICALLY YIELD?

Typically, our finished product is between 400 – 600 images. We find that this range of images is the perfect amount to tell your story without becoming redundant.

WHO DO YOU USE FOR WEDDING ALBUMS?

We use Cypress Albums.  They produce the most beautiful heirloom products that match our aesthetic perfectly!

DO YOU OFFER AN ONLINE PROOFING GALLERY?

Certainly!  We use Pixieset for our online proofing.  Once we have finished editing your photos, we upload them all to Pixieset and send you the link.  It’s super easy to share that page with friends and family who might be interested in viewing your images or purchasing prints.  You will also be able to create a ‘favorites’ folder to help us with your album design and you will also be able to use your product credit to order your own prints, canvases, etc.

WILL WE RECEIVE THE DIGITAL NEGATIVES AS PART OF OUR PHOTOGRAPHY PACKAGE?

We provide the negatives to any images you select as part of your print/album credits. We do include the full wedding day negatives as part of two of our packages and you can always add it on to your package, a-la carte.

Can we make payments via credit card?

Our preferred form of payment is by check, but we do also accept Visa, MasterCard, and Discover.

Do you guys have a drone?!

Of course we have a drone!  We actually have two drones.   One is a bit easier to travel with and they both capture incredible footage in 4K.  We also have our Part 107 certification from the FAA, providing us the clearance to fly legally and safely.

I heard you shoot on film. What does that mean?

We are absolutely IN LOVE with shooting on film!  All of our photography packages include medium format and 35mm film. The fine art approach allows us to truly concentrate on each frame resulting in the best images possible. We also have a major crush on Richard Photo Lab. They develop and scan all of our images.

We also offer an a-la carte Super 8mm option.  Why Super 8?  Nostalgia, nostalgia, nostalgia.  A wedding film is nothing more than a home movie and Super 8, arguably, captures those feelings better than any HD camera ever could.

Where can we view a feature length wedding film?

We think it’s absolutely imperative for couples to see a full feature of our work.  Please contact us about our features and we’d be happy to send you over some examples of our (extended) work! We’d also be more than happy to provide you examples of our Super 8 option.

Who will be editing my film / photos?

We are proud to do all of our editing in-house.  We don’t want to leave your memories in the hands of someone who doesn’t even know you!  We invest a lot of time in getting to know our couples to insure that you get a product that is all about YOU.

When will we receive our wedding film/photos?

Within our contract, we allow ourselves up to 36 weeks to deliver your wedding film.  It is always our goal to deliver well before that time.  We currently maintain a solid 2-month turn around time on wedding films.  Photography is generally completed sooner than our films, but depending on what we’re providing you, times can vary (IE:  album design)  Delivery times can also vary depending on the time of year and how busy the studio is at that time.

WHERE CAN WE VIEW A FULL PHOTOGRAPHY WEDDING?

We’d be more than happy to show you a full series of wedding images. We’re big believers in consistency from start to finish. Contact us for more information!

What format will our wedding film be delivered in?

We use a service called Mediazilla to upload your films. You can download the full resolution files directly from the site. You will also be able to share your page with family and friends who are also able to download the hi-res files. Mediazilla also acts as a lifetime back-up for your wedding films, though we strongly suggest backing your files up in multiple places.

Where is your studio located?

Our home studio is located in the heart of midtown Wilmington in the historic Brookwood neighborhood. Our mailing address is:

11 Borden Avenue
Wilmington, NC 28403

Do you travel?  Are there extra fees for travel?

We are available for regional, national, and international travel.  We charge a flat fee for weddings we are able to drive to, based on how far we are from the event.  This fee includes all travel fees as well as hotel fees.  We provide a custom quote for any wedding that requires us to fly that encompasses flights, baggage fees, hotel accommodations, and car rentals.

Do you work well with other vendors?

We love our local wedding community and are proud to call many of our fellow vendors friends.  We all have a job to do on your wedding day.  We try and make this as simple as possible by going out of our way to help and understand other vendors.  We’re all there for you and we never lose sight of that.  Have vendor questions?  Ask us!  We’d be glad to provide references for some amazing companies in the area!
